Youth Socialization in Kazakhstan

Youth Socialization in Kazakhstan

–Astana: Center of Youth Researches. -2002. 106 p.

The problem of relationships between generations is as old as the world itself. The outstanding representatives of the mankind on the way to civilization tried to solve the problems arising between the old and the young, the problem of generation interchange. The older generation was always quite jealous towards the generation that changes it. This is the dialectics of nature and a man as its integral part. The problem has not been solved but the mankind, however, has developed definite models of relationships taking off antagonistic reasons. The human society has realized the fact that a search for a universal solution to the problem of generation relationship is useless. The mankind turned to the mechanism of the growing generation functioning: how the new generation, that is so different from their parents, continues their business, again being succeeded by a new generation in its turn? And if before this mechanism attracted mostly philosophers, poets, writers, last century it drew attention of scientists of different fields of knowledge – psychologists, physiologists, sociologists, pedagogues, lawyers and so on. Thanks to their efforts many aspects of this perpetuum mobile of the civilization functioning were studied. Such relationships were considered by the science mostly at the historical turns when the break of men’s fates, or sometimes of whole generations’ fates were clearly seen.

Unfortunately, the relations of the sociology with the other sciences is much tighter than the internal unity of youth itself. Quite a few authors considers youth sociology (juvenology) to be only the empirical data on the views and youth behaviour, studies on the attitude of new generation to the politics, religion, music, sports. We follow the wider understanding of the subject of youth sociology, which assumes the further interpretation of “youth” concept in different aspects: demographic, social-psychological, cultorological, etc. On the other hand, one is able to talk about youth sociology only in case when the certain social signs firstly belong to sociology and, secondly, can be the basis for the explanation of this phenomenon.
